근데 해외 로밍하자니 번거롭기도 하고... 전화올데도 없는데 돈도 아깝고요..

데이터 무제한 쓰고 다들 나간다고 하는데, 그 데이타도 아깝게 느껴지는지라....

휴대폰 GPS만으로 지도보면서 나가보려합니다.


요즘 구글 맵스에서 구글지도 오프라인 다운로드 받아 사용가능하다고 하는데....

제가 갈 곳인 스페인, 마드리드는 지도 저장이 안되네요...


지역 검색한 다음에 "okmaps" 를 검색창에 누르면 "이 지도를 저장하시겠습니까?"

라고 나오지만....

마드리드, 스페인 검색했을때 밑에 작게 "사용할 수 없는 지역입니다."

라고 하고 다운로드 버튼이 비활성화 되어있더군요...ㅠㅠ


구글지도가 짱짱맨인데... 아쉽지만... 다른 오프라인 지도들 찾아봐야겠습니다.

험난한 스페인 여정이 되는건아닌지 걱정이네요...ㅎㅎ^^


오늘 규모 8.9 강진에 대형 쓰나미가 일본열도(동북부 지역)를 강타했다고 한다.
말로만 듣던 쓰나미.. 정말 가까운, 바로 이웃나라인 일본에서 일어난 사건이라 하니 더더욱 놀랍다.
사진 속 일본 현지 모습은 정말이지 대폐허 상태를 보여줬다.

아.. 백두산에 화산 폭발도 일어날 가능성이 있다고 하는데..
해를 거듭할 수록 점점 자연재해 피해가 심각해지고 있다.
인간의 욕심이 낳은 결과일지도 모르겠지만..
지금으로써는 더 이상의 큰 재해가 나타나지 않기를..
대한민국은 안전하기를..(이기적인 것 일까..?)
간절히 바래본다.




GM Daewoo Auto & Technology (GM Daewoo) President and CEO Mike Arcamone called on all departments at the automaker to ensure the highest level of quality with zero defects prior to the launch of the new Alpheon luxury sedan.

As part of his focus on zero defects, he also invited 300 representatives from domestic suppliers to visit GM Daewoo’s Bupyeong headquarters and highlighted the importance of securing the highest-quality parts in advance of the Alpheon’s reaching the market.

According to Arcamone, “Ensuring unmatched product quality requires the joint effort of Design, R&D, Purchasing and Production as well as Quality. There can be no excuses for product defects. Our goal must be to achieve the highest level of quality for all of our models, including the Alpheon.”

Arcamone showed his strong confidence in the Alpheon’s quality, stating: “All GM Daewoo employees are doing their utmost to improve quality 50 percent from the current level by the end of the year. The Alpheon will represent the success of our efforts.”

Prior to the Alpheon’s release, GM Daewoo carried out a series of important quality improvement processes such as BIS (Best In Segment: Quality Target Setting), QAP (Quality Assessment Process), CTF (Captured Test Fleet) and PQEPM (Program Quality Escalation Process Meeting). QAP focused on hitting quality targets in the new vehicle development stage. The company’s goal is the flawless launch of new vehicles.

Since becoming GM Daewoo’s top executive last October, Arcamone has continuously emphasized the importance of quality. He closely monitors parts quality and manufacturing quality. Quality is also a focus of senior leadership meetings, with Arcamone working to quickly resolve quality issues as they arise.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a global leader in display technology and digital media, announced today that it has become the first company to commence mass production of panels for 3D LED TVs and 3D LCD TVs.

“Recently, 3D displays have captured the industry spotlight,” said Wonkie Chang, president of the LCD Business at Samsung Electronics. “Samsung Electronics aims to lead the global 3D TV panel market in pioneering panel mass production for 3D LED and LCD TVs.”

The company began producing LED and LCD compatible panels for 40-inch, 46-inch and 55-inch full-HD 3D TVs using ‘3D Active Glasses’ this month, employing Samsung’s exclusive true 240Hz technology.

Samsung’s true 240Hz technology delivers full-HD viewing in 2D, and also smooth, natural, full-HD 3D images that can vividly capture rapid movements.

By incorporating true 240Hz technology, operating at 240 frames per second, Samsung’s panels deliver a more lifelike picture with alternating left and right eye images through the use of 3D Active Glasses technology.

Samsung has reduced the response time of its LCD and LED panels by 20 percent to less than four milliseconds, eliminating any interference between left and right eye images. With this improved response time, Samsung is able to achieve natural 3D images and also deliver 2D pictures capturing rapid movement with exceptional clarity.

Samsung’s new 3D Active Glasses technology first blocks the left and then right lens, causing a momentary lag when images are shown to each eye to achieve more lifelike 3D images. The term, ‘3D Active Glasses,’ was selected as an official term by the Glasses Standardization Working Group of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) earlier this year.

The polarized glass method previously used in 3D glasses produced separate images for the left and right eyes, resulting in half the resolution of two-dimensional pictures as only half of the screen can be viewed through each polarized filter. Brightness was also lowered because of the polarized filter.

According to a market research firm, DisplaySearch, the 3D display market is expected to grow from $902 million in 2008 to $22 billion in 2018. Specifically, the 3D TV market is expected to expand to a $17-billion market, with sales increasing from 200,000 units in 2009 to 64 million units 2018.

What’s metallic, cold and floats on water? Well, if you answered “a refrigerator,” you would be correct. At least in LG’s eyes.

That’s because the Korea-based diversified consumer electronics, appliances and air conditioner company is taking its newest refrigerator on the road -– or more accurately, on the water –- in an attempt to woo discerning Europeans to the benefits of its large-capacity, eco-friendly, “side-by-side” door refrigerator.

To spotlight the product’s worldwide launch, a 70-meter long container ship disguised as LG’s new refrigerator sailed up the Seine from Le Havre to Paris between June 22 and June 25, making scheduled stops along the way to take on board refrigerators filled with local delicacies. Upon arriving in Paris, the container ship – which is long as a football field is wide -- was met by French chef and L’Arpége owner Alain Passard who directed a team of chefs in preparing a open-air feast for guests utilizing the food transported by the container ship-cum-refrigerator. A local charity, La Banque Alimentaire, also received a portion of the fresh food.


A new refrigerator during a global recession? Is this really what people want? Or need?

“Absolutely,” says Mr. Young-ha Lee, President and CEO of LG Electronics’ Home Appliance Company. “What we’ve found is that the economic slowdown has changed the way many of us live, the way many of us eat. Consumers are looking to save money by buying groceries in bulk and preparing more meals at home. This obviously requires larger storage capability and the need to keep food fresher longer.”


LG’s new refrigerator boasts a capacity of 617-liters – volume of approx. 2,460 small (250ml) Coca Cola cans -- without taking up any more space in the kitchen, an important feature in some real estate-challenged countries. The refrigerator also boasts ultra low power consumption and reduced noise thanks to technology the company developed called a “Linear Compressor”. The appliance requires 20 percent less energy than conventional refrigerators which was enough to earn it an A+ class rating in the European Union.


And LG was extra thoughtful in designing an event that would have the least impact on the environment.

“Pound for pound, sea vessels are much cleaner than trucks or airplanes for moving large objects,” said Mr. Lee. “We wanted to show off this refrigerator in an interesting way but not at the expense of leaving a huge carbon footprint. I think the audience for this appliance would notice something like that.”

This new LG side-by-side refrigerator will be available across Europe including France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Greece, Hungary, Austria and the United Kingdom starting in July 2009. It will be available in CIS, MEA, and Asia markets later this year.
